Operating within the People & Culture team, the WHS team is responsible for nurturing a culture that drives a safe and healthy workplace for all staff, contractors, volunteers and visitors across Council. The WHS team play an integral role in supporting the implementation of Council's health and safety objectives by providing on the ground support and advice across all Council operations.

WHS Officer (RTW/Training)

The WHS Officer (RTW/Training) has a broad focus across staff welfare, recover at work, training and compliance. This role is essential in championing staff welfare, work health and injury management initiatives to support our staff wellbeing. The role also provides support focused on injury prevention, recover at work/return to work for work and non-work-related injuries. This role works closely with stakeholders and coordinates staff competency for high risk licencing, tickets and training, including workplace-based Verification of Competency (VOC) and compliance based training.

About you

It is essential for this role that you have the ability to handle data accurately and confidentially. You will be self-motivated and able to action new tasks independently. You will be able to assist with developing and implementing data processing and management procedures. You will liaise with Supervisors and Managers and assist the Executive Manager People & Culture, the WHS Manager and other WHS staff as required.
